Hey everyone!
I hope Fall has been treating you well, and that you’re as excited for Halloween as I am! I haven’t been able to write one of these in a while because I’ve been busy busy busy!
On a personal note, after a year of being laid off, I’m happy to say I just started a new job at an amazing company, where I’ll be working as an Associate Creative Director slinging ads! I know you’re here for the comics, though, and rest assured, I’ve got plenty going on in that area too! But, having a steady day job allows me to concentrate even more on making those comics awesome, without having to spend my time worrying about where my health insurance is going to come from, if we’ll have food in the fridge, you know, little things like that.
Coming up this month, I’ve got a story in Batman: The Brave and the Bold #19, where Stevan Subic and I pit the caped crusader against a very deadly (and very jacked!) Mr. Zsasz.
I got a chance to meet and hang out with Stevan last week at NYCC. We had an awesome time walking around the city, talking about our careers and potential future plans. It was a lot of fun!
Speaking of NYCC, that’s the OTHER reason I haven’t been able to get one of these out in a while! I did a lot of prep work for the con, and spent all 4 days doing my best to network and set up new projects.
I’m already working on a couple of really exciting things that were set up at the con! The big cons drive me crazy sometimes, because it can be hard to set up meetings with the people you are dying to work with - but time and time again it’s been proven to me that if you just walk around, and let yourself be open to the randomness of it all, you’ll run into people you never expected to, and great things can happen.
So, that’s what’s going on in my world. If it all works out, I’ll have some very exciting news in the weeks and months to come. Wishing you all a Happy Halloween, and remember to check those candy apples for razor blades!
