Hi Everyone!
Hope your summer is going great! Mine has been awesome so far. I had planned to write a few more of these newsletters once I got back from SDCC, but I’ve been neck deep in work since!
SDCC
SDCC was amazing for me, both personally and professionally. Going in, I was honestly feeling a little shaky. Work was a little slow, and I had just been feeling a bit discouraged. But I got it together and hit the con floor running, and I’m so glad I did.
Had many awesome meetings with editors across a number of companies, from which I hope some really cool opportunities will manifest. I didn’t take a ton of pictures, but here’s a couple!
The whole trip was a whirlwind, and it was really great and invigorating to be around so many comics people!
Ok, on to the big news for today -
I’m writing a Batman story!!!
This is another huge career milestone for me. Batman is a character that I have loved for literally decades - and I’m so happy to finally have a chance to write something featuring him.
My story, “Leftovers”, will be published in BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #19, which comes out in November this year. I teamed up with the amazing Stevan Subic to tell a creepy, brutal tale where Batman confronts Victor Zsasz as he hunts down some former victims that got away from him the first time!
I hope you’ll consider picking it up in a couple of months!
Thanks for reading, and see you next time!
- Rich
Congrats!
Sounds like the kind of Batman story I like.
